Learn to rideShoeman Road Family Farm caters to beginning and intermediate riders who want a great experience with horses. Our farm is a good place either to start riding or to rekindle that childhood dream you had to abandon when adulthood crowded in. Our lessons are approximately 40 to 50 minutes long with about 30 minutes on the horse and time both before and after the ride to properly care for the horse and the facility. The primary instruction is in English dressage with some jumping, cross-county, and trail riding mixed in, depending on your interests. We also offer some shorter lessons -- most applicable to little kids who can't quite last an entire lesson -- and group lessons at reduced rates. People with flexible schedules can also take advantage of additional discounts if they take lessons before 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or anytime on the weekends. See our Schedule of Fees for details on rates. Finally, our instructors are safety minded, skilled in the sport, and still get a thrill out of working with beginner and intermediate riders.
